It’s been a while and I know that’s what I said last time, BUUUUUT I noticed there had been a fair bit of traffic to this site, so it was about time I updated everyone on what is happening with Dawn Barrington Music.
I did two solo gigs in May of last year 2025, one at The Thornbury Local and another one at the Mr Boogie Man bar in Fitzroy as support for Anthony Rea and The Charm Offensive. It was a blast, I had so much fun. They were both amazing nights and I felt I was at my absolute best on both nights. I have not done any solo gigs since then apart from some open mics. But there has been some new stuff happening!
“LIGHTKEEPERS”
Tom Hoyle made contact with me through Bandmix,
he is also a singer songwriter so we got together to see if we could bring our sounds and songs together as a duo. Tom then asked his friend Danny if he wanted to join on lead guitar then Tom found Phil our new bass player and before we knew it we had a band. Literally two weeks before our first gig Lisa joined us on African drums and percussion.
It was so exciting, then in December we did our first gig at Bar Open in Fitzroy which was amazing!

We have our next gig Saturday April 18th at The Retreat Hotel in Brunswick at 2pm in the beer garden. I am really looking forward to this one because we have had more time to learn more songs and really get to know each other and build on what we have done so far.

We also have a gig Saturday May 9th at the Merri Creek Tavern in Northcote. We will be sharing the night with Little Somebodies. Phil Hudson is a friend and the lead of that band so we decided to visit a few venues together to seek out a spot to play.
