How would you like to host your very own House Concert?
All you need is a room that fits 10+ people in it and a few friends and music lovers to invite. I will then come to your home with my songs and guitar and create an evening of live music where you can be the audience and you can be a part of the fun too
What are the costs you may ask? If you can accommodate and feed the artist (that’s me) for the night and ask for an entry fee of somewhere between $10 – $25 per person depending on what you think would be a comfortable price to ask then that will cover my costs.
BYO: drinks and nibbles and we’re set for the night…it couldn’t be easier!
“House Concerts are one of the most important trends in independent music today – and they’re popping up all over the world! A house concert is a chance to experience music in a warm and intimate environment. It’s when someone opens up their home and invites you into their living room to share in a performance by one of their favourite musicians. There’s just something about house concerts…..it’s a chance to meet the performers and get them to sign their CD. A house concert is also a great social evening of friends and neighbours.” – Lisa Aston, original founder of House Concerts Australia The best listening audiences in the world are found at house concerts
Voice of the Avon presenter Tonk’n Along with Tonks
“Dawn is a consummate musical professional, great entertainer and very nice person to boot. I could not have made a better choice for my first concert. Dawn enthralled the audience during the concert with original music and some covers – and had the audience singing along with her.” Allen Tonk’s, Voice of the Avon 101.3 fm
House concert Thirroul
We greatly appreciated Dawn’s professional yet kind and friendly manner. Her songs were interspersed with fascinating anecdotes about her work and insights about music, performance and life.
Dawn had us all singing and clapping along to well-known songs and her own compositions are strong and thought provoking. Dawn showed my daughter how to accompany her on piano, the first time she’d been prepared to perform in front of others, and as a direct result of Dawn’s beautiful gentle inspiration, both our kids are now performing house concerts of their own for family and friends. House Concert Humph Hall
What a delightful evening’s concert featuring two wonderful acts in Swimming to Florida & Dawn Barrington. Both presented the audience with an eclectic choice of music in differing genres. Would not hesitate to recommend either acts for their next performances! Thank you!
