The Denmark Festival of Voice was a fantastic weekend! I launched my album “When did it Change?” at Mrs Jones Cafe joined by Peter Caron on guitar, Saturday 3rd to a wonderful crowd of locals and tourists!
Now it’s time to move on into the winter season and let you all know what I am going to be up to over the next 3 or more months. The gigs listed below are what I have confirmed so far but there could be some other ones pending confirmation. House Concerts Australia is a page that I have been following and utilising. It’s a fantastic new venture being managed by Michael McManus who lives in Melbourne. I am registered as a musician and there are music loving hosts also registered and we can make contact with each other to book house concerts. So I have started booking dates and it’s very exciting to be doing intimate concerts to an appreciative audience. I’ve done a few over East and in WA so I have a good idea of what it’s like and how to go about organising them.
This weekend I’m playing at the Albany Boatshed Markets on Sunday morning and the White Star Hotel in Albany in the evening then on Sunday 18th and July 9th I’ll be at the Earl of Spencer. in Albany. I have my first booking at Six Degrees in Albany on Sunday 16th and then I’m off to Kalgoorlie for a road trip to play at 3b Boutique on Friday July 21st then on to Ruben Will’s E13 Session which is a dedicated songwriters event. Then on Friday 4th of August I have a house concert booked at Arcadia Wines in Kendenup WA is going to be an intimate event. On Friday August 18th I’m heading up to York again to play at the Settlers House and then I have a private house concert on the Saturday and then it’s across to Perth on Sunday where I’ll be playing at Jackadders Music Club. When I go off for the weekend it’s always good to get at least 2 gigs to help make it viable for me financially. Dingup B&B in Manjimup is going to be an intimate house concert where Chris is going to offer a soup, song and sleepover package which will be a lot of fun. Then it’s full circle Oct 8th where I’ll be back at the Albany Boatshed Markets in the morning and The Earl of Spencer in the evening. Peter will be joining me on guitar for a number of those gigs and the rest I will be doing solo.
